Ng Xian Wen

“Rugby is a hooligan’s game played by gentlemen” -  Winston Churchill

This is a quote that Xian Wen truly believes in. This sport taught him so much during his early years and it made him the person that he is today today.

Rugby builds character and strength. Through Eastern Rebels, he wishes to reach out to young individuals who might not have found their goals in life, but when that day comes, they will have the character and never-say-die attitude to withstand whatever that comes in their way.

Xian Wen started playing rugby when he was at ACS (Baker Road). He continued playing when he was completing his tertiary education at Republic Polytechnic.

He now coaches the Eastern Rebels.

Kenneth Khoo

Kenneth Khoo

For Kenneth, the benefits of rugby extend beyond the physical aspects. Although he is usually the smallest player on the field, playing rugby has fostered his confidence and mental strength over the years. Till this day, he remains grateful to all his coaches and team mates. Playing rugby throughout the crucial years of his teenage years gave him a sense of belonging, instilled discipline and developed his mental strength. Kenneth wants to give back to rugby what he have gained throughout his playing years and be the person his coaches was to him, to these kids. Kenneth started playing rugby at ACS Junior and the ACS (Barker Road). At tertiary level, he played for Singapore Polytechnic and Singapore Institute of Management. At club level, he played for Wanderers Rugby Football Club.
