Eastern Rebels Rugby was set up as a not for profit organization focused on local neighbourhood school children and at risk youth. We use rugby as a tool to mentor and impart positive values to the kids.

Through the collaboration between Sports Singapore, Singapore Rugby Union and Junyuan Secondary School, our objective is to coach rugby and impart all the positive values to all children in the neigbourhood, regardless of social and financial status, ethnicity, gender or which school they are from.

Dawson RC Rugby Clinic

As part of our community outreach, we do participate in grassroots events to introduce rugby to the kids. As not many schools offer rugby as a co-curricular activity, this will be the first time that these kids will get to experience playing rugby.

On 7th December 2019, Henderson CSC, Dawson RC and Delta RC organized an estate-wide Sports Day.. The sports day, comprised of 2 segments: a Vertical Marathon at SkyVille@Dawson and a Sports Tryout Carnival at SkyTerrace@Dawson.

Eastern Rebels Rugby was involved in the Sports Tryout Carnival and the event drew about  300 – 400 participants throughout Tanjong Pagar GRC. Our team of coaches was there to introduce tag rugby to the kids from ages 7-9 years old. For most of the kids, this was the first time that they have touched a rugby ball. During the two hour session, the kids were taught the proper way to hold, pass and catch the ball. We also introduced tag rugby to inject more fun during the session.

Overall, the kids enjoyed the session and we received positive feedback from the parents. After the event, some of the kids even signed up for our weekly training sessions. You can view more photos from the event here.

Rugby is a game that will benefit your child in many other ways. It will help to develop other positive values for your child. At Eastern Rebels Rugby, we conduct rugby training for boys and girls from the ages of 10 to 18 years old. We believe that every child in Singapore should have the opportunity to learn rugby regardless of social and economic background, ethnicity or the school that they are from. It is a good platform for your kids to integrate with other children from all walks of life.
